7 Igloos, One Cozy Night to Remember
Let’s start with a tiny bit of vulnerability.
For the past few weeks, I quietly stepped back from going to events I usually find through the IRL Singles Club app. I was exploring a connection with someone I met, and I wanted to give it room to grow. No big drama, no villain—just two people, seeing what might happen.
Ultimately, it didn’t work out.
Even when endings are gentle, they can still sting a little. Dating can feel hopeful, confusing, exciting, and exhausting—all at the same time. I know I’m not alone in that mix of feelings.
Somewhere in the middle of processing that, this thought landed and stuck:
“Dating doesn’t always give you the person you want, but it always shapes the person you’re becoming—braver, clearer, and more yourself than before.”
That’s where I am right now: not trying to “solve” dating, just trying to enjoy the journey and keep showing up.
And getting back out to events—actually using my own app again as a single person—has been the best reset button.
The Igloo Crawl: Cozy, Chill, and Packed With Single Women

This week’s adventure: the Igloo Crawl at Urban Vines in Westfield, Indiana.
Urban Vines has become kind of famous locally for their heated igloos—clear domes lit with string lights where you can sip wine, share food, and still feel connected to the winter outside. Their igloos seat up to about ten people, are heated, and can be reserved in two-hour blocks from November through winter.
For the crawl I went to, each igloo had its own adorable theme:
Grinch
Reindeer
Santa
Plaid
…and a few more I’m definitely stealing decor ideas from
Inside each igloo: cozy blankets, warm lighting, and that low hum of people actually talking to each other instead of scrolling on their phones.
There was pie.
There was wine.
There was live music.
The weather was weirdly perfect for November.
And single guys… I’m just going to say it:
You really missed out.
This event was almost entirely full of single women (although I had my - very spoken for - wing women with me). Smart, fun, friendly women who showed up open to meeting new people and just enjoying the night. If you’ve been saying, “There are no good women out there,” I promise you—they are out here. They’re just in igloos eating pie without you.
(If you haven't met me, I'm the girlie on the left)
How the Igloo Crawl Worked

One thing I loved about this event: it was structured just enough to be interesting, but not so structured that it felt like speed dating.
Each igloo had a different wine + pie pairing.
You could start wherever you wanted - no required order.
Whenever you were ready, you just moved on to another igloo to try the next pairing.
That meant every time you switched igloos, you landed in a new mix of people:
A group of women on a girls’ night.
People who had just moved to the area and were trying to find community.
Regulars who treat Urban Vines like their winter living room.
Because the igloos are small and cozy, conversation never felt forced. You’re basically sitting at a shared table with shared pie and shared wine—“What’s been your favorite pairing so far?” is the easiest opener in the world.
It was relaxed, a little magical, and a perfect environment for meeting people without the pressure of “THIS MUST BE A DATE.”
Cheers to the journey! Until next time . . .
